When it comes to providing pure joy there are few things better than a local fair or festival, and the annual Ossining Village Fair is arguably the best in all of Westchester.
This year Dravot Carnehan Studios was one of the main sponsors of the event. Naturally, I took on the assignment of shooting photographs. In between sampling most of the great food that was available I took a few pictures. Spot anyone you know?

I try to carry a camera whenever possible. My phone has a decent 3.2 megapixel camera, but as long as I’m wearing a jacket with adequate pockets I’ll carry my Nikon COOLPIX if not something larger. You never know what great photo opportunity is going to present itself, and you can never have too much practice. (more…)
An editor friend of mine posted on Facebook that he had received an offer to produce two short documentaries for an American company working out of the United Arab Emirates. The request appeared fishy from the start, and after a little research he found other references to similar scams floating around the web.

I attended two networking events in the same evening this past week. One was a traditional gathering of the members of multiple Westchester Chambers of Commerce held at the Mt. Kisco Holiday Inn. The other was a Westchester “TweetUp”, a gathering of Twitter users from the Westchester County area in New York. The TweetUp was held at POUR Café & Wine Bar, which is also located in Mt. Kisco. I had been to networking events in the past, but never a TweetUp. I did not realize how different the two events would be.
